General Eligibility Criteria

 

CASCAP’s  Consumer Provider Program

 

The following information is obtained from the Application Form, educational transcripts, references, academic assessments, and a staff interview. 

 

 

  1. DMH eligible client (priority given to Metro Boston area, which includes the cities of Boston*, Brookline, Cambridge, Chelsea, Revere, Somerville, and Winthrop)

 

  1. 18 years of age or older

 

  1. Acceptable CORI (No mandatory disqualification offences)

 

  1. High school diploma or GED

 

  1. Functional reading and writing levels of 9th grade or higher

 

  1. Able to travel independently to CPP Somerville training facility and to community based internship site

 

  1. Other demonstrated qualities and abilities:

 

·        Strong interest in helping others and working in human services

 

·        Achievement of some degree of personal recovery, e.g. able to ask for help directly;  able to accept feedback; able to focus on goals and issues not related to own symptoms or concerns.

 

·        Able to follow through on tasks independently

 

·        Able to get along and work with others

 

·        Flexibility and problem solving ability
